Winter is over, Spring arrived and Optimum Yacht Racing Team is back in business for 22nd season since 1994. In 2015, Team Optimum will campaign one more year the all carbon Bruce Farr designed 52 footer Optimum 3 that has provided the platform for unrivaled successes to the Team.
“We are all excited! Optimum 3 goes back on the water tomorrow and on May 1st we will train hard to prepare for the first racing weekend of the season on May 2-3, a series of inshore races around buoys organized by Yacht Club Greece. Truth is that we pressed the on button for the season only after we signed in our loyal sponsors. ASPIDA Maritime Security supports Team Optimum for 4th consecutive year and SAXOBANK for 2nd year around. Our aim will be to maximize the return of their support, cooperating by any means possible, addressing their communication needs through our Optimum platform. The crew gathered the last two weeks to prepare OPTIMUM-ASPIDA-SAXOBANK for launching and is “hungry” to go racing sailing in home waters. The last time we raced all together was in survival mode at the stormy Rolex Middle Sea Race in late October 2014. Faliron Bay in Athens seafront is a great venue to commence the season this weekend and progressively get battle ready for hardcore racing in the Aegean Sea in July”, comments co-leader Periklis Livas.
